Mini Training Sesions (MTS)
After the initial 8-hour session, we met with our peer leaders on a monthly (then bi-monthly) basis for short training sessions called Mini Training Sessions (MTS). Each session was held in the evening, and was designed to last 1.5 hours, though some of the sessions that covered two topics lasted longer. The monthly “starter” sessions covered a single topic; the bi-monthly sessions covered two topics. For simplicity’s sake, the bi-monthly sessions are presented as separate links (see below). We covered a total of 12 topics in the course of the MTS. Materials for each session were given to the leaders in a 3-hole punched plastic folder, designed to be added to the original training manual. Elements common to all of the MTS—and that appear in the agendas for each—included a Q & A session with one of the POWER team’s MDs; an opportunity to update the POWER team and fellow peer leaders on activities, successes, and challenges at their posts; and a performance report from the coordinator, based on the peer leaders’ completion of Post Scorecard requirements. Please click on the links below for details about the individual Mini Training Sessions.
