Environmental Planning and Compliance
In accordance with Presidential Executive Orders for “Greening the Government Through Leadership in Environmental Management” and “Strengthening Federal Environmental, Energy and Transportation Management”, the Medical Center has implemented a Green Environmental Management System (GEMS) Program.
The objective of the GEMS program is to provide a framework for the facility to be a good steward of the environment by complying with Federal, state, and local environmental laws, regulations, and requirements. The Medical Center is committed to preventing pollution, minimizing wastes, conserving cultural and natural resources, saving energy, using sustainable practices, and continually improving environmental programs.
