Staying safe over the holidays

COVID incubation graphic

Be aware of how easily COVID-19 can spread.

Wednesday, November 25, 2020

Please take a minute to watch this recorded message from Dr. Nathan Gundacker, Milwaukee VA Medical Center infectious disease doctor, about the incubation timeline for COVID-19 and how to make smart and safe decisions as we enter the holiday and family-gathering season.

We’ve seen a notable decrease in our patient population over the past week, and our medical teams continue to do an amazing job taking care of our outpatient and inpatient Veterans. This past week is a testament to that, as we’ve seen a large number of Veterans discharged from our inpatient units.

But keep your guard up; our community numbers are still high.

We anticipate another spike after Thanksgiving. We’re bracing for it and preparing the best we can for the next wave.

We encourage good judgment and social distancing. The extra steps to mitigate the risk of exposure now will lessen the impact of COVID-19 in the coming weeks.
