Milwaukee VA revises caregiver/escort policy

Beginning July 13, outpatients will be allowed to bring one adult caregiver/escort to their appointment, if necessary, at the Milwaukee VA Medical Center.

Because of COVID-19 concerns, we ask Veterans to come to appointments alone for their safety, the safety of VA Staff, and to slow the spread of coronavirus. If necessary, one adult caregiver/escort will be permitted, and both must wear face masks and go through screening. Veterans and caregivers/escorts are asked to leave the medical center immediately after their appointment.

This is for outpatients only. Regular visitors are still not permitted. We urge patients to use Video Connect telehealth and telephone appointments wherever possible. For more information on appointments, call your primary care provider.

There are still no in-person pharmacy refills. All veterans are asked to fill prescriptions online at www.myhealth.va.gov; by phone at 414-384-2000, then press 1; or by sending in refill slips by mail.
