Dr. Daniel S. Zomchek was appointed Director of Milwaukee VA Medical Center June 27, 2016.
Prior to Milwaukee he served as the Associate Director of the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital since September 2012.
Previously, he served the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, Massachusetts as Associate Director. Additionally, he served as Health Systems Specialist for the VA Healthcare System of Ohio (VISN 10), where he managed various programs and initiatives across the Network of five medical centers. While in his position at VISN 10, Dr. Zomchek spent two months as Acting Associate Director of the Iron Mountain VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, Michigan, and as Acting Sub-Initiative Lead for one of the Secretaryâ€™s Major Transformation Initiatives.
Dr. Zomchekâ€™s previous VA experience includes several positions of increasing responsibility at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, including Staff Psychologist, Assistant Chief of Outpatient Mental Health, and Systems Redesign Coordinator for the facility. He served as Acting Hospital Director at Hines VA Hospital â€“ November 2014 to February 2015 and again from June through October of 2015.
Dr. Zomchek received a bachelorâ€™s degree in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago in 1998 and a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Bowling Green State University in 2003. In 2004, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from VHAâ€™s Behavioral Health Leadership Training Program in 2006, the VISN 12 Leadership Development Program in 2007, and the Executive Career Field Program in 2011. Dr. Zomchek is a Certified Mentor and is board certified in Healthcare Management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Deputy Medical Center Director
James McLain was appointed as the Deputy Director in October of 2012.
Mr. McLain began his career as a medical platoon leader in the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He deployed with the 101st in 1990 for Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and with the 3rd Area Support Medical Battalion in 2003 for Operation Iraqi Freedom.
He has worked in a broad array of healthcare activities, including finance, research, practice management, contracting, hospital administration, and network development. His military assignments include Brook Army Medical Center, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Patterson Army Health Clinic, and the U.S. Embassy, Bangkok.
After retiring from the Army in 2007, he was selected to become the Chief of VA New Jerseyâ€™s Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). After graduating from the VA Executive Career Field Career Development Program in 2010, he became the Associate Director for VA New Jersey's Lyons Campus.
A native of Roswell, New Mexico, he received his Bachelor's Degree in 1987 from Trinity University in San Antonio and Master's of Healthcare Administration in 1996 from Baylor University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Chief of Staff
Dr. Erdmann has served as chief of staff since April 6, 1998.
He received his bachelor's degree from Carroll College in 1979 and his medical doctor degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1983. In 1986, Dr. Erdmann completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Erdmann holds a board certification in Internal Medicine. In 1989, he received his master's degree from the University of Michigan, School of Public Health.
The Milwaukee VA Medical Center is closely affiliated with the Medical College of Wisconsin where Dr. Erdmann serves as associate dean for VA Affairs and professor of medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine. Prior to becoming Chief of Staff, Dr. Erdmann served as Chief, Medical Service, Milwaukee VAMC and Vice Chairman, Department of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Dr. Erdmann oversees the provision of tertiary care clinical services at the Milwaukee VA Medical Center. The institution offers expertise in cardio-vascular care, spinal cord injuries, medical, surgical and radiation oncology, all medical and surgical subspecialties, mental health and rehabilitation and geriatrics. Milwaukee is a front runner in telemedicine including offering telemental health, telepathology, telepulmonary, teledermatology, telepost operative evaluations, teleradiology (including ultrasound and fluoroscopy) and telehome-health care. Dr. Erdmann provides clinical leadership to Milwaukee's community based outpatient clinics in Union Grove, Appleton, Green Bay, and Cleveland, WI.
Dr. Erdmann is active in his community schools, government and church. Hobbies include running, outdoor activities and viewing Wisconsinâ€™s professional and college sports.
Annette L. Severson | 414 384-2000 x42605
Prior to her current appointment as Associate Director for Patient Care Services, Dr. Annette Severson served as the Associate Chief Nurse, Nursing Education and Research for Milwaukee VA Medical Center having joined the staff in 2014. Dr. Severson is responsible for daily practice of nurses throughout the medical center and community clinics in addition to programmatic oversight for Social Work, Community Living Centers, Nutrition & Food Service and Sterile Processing Service.
Prior to joining Milwaukee VA, Dr. Severson served as the Associate Vice President for the Office of Instruction at the Wisconsin Technical College System Office, leading the review and approval of all post-secondary educational program curriculum offered by the sixteen technical colleges across Wisconsin. Prior to that role, Dr. Severson served as the Associate Dean of Nursing at Waukesha County Technical College.
Other roles in health care service include several leadership and management roles in both the inpatient and outpatient settings at Portland VA Medical Center and, most recently, at University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison, Wisconsin.
Clinically, after starting her health care career as a lab technician, Dr. Severson acquired extensive intensive care and emergency department experience in a variety of settings including pediatric intensive care unit, cardiovascular surgery recovery and a Level I trauma center emergency department/intensive care unit.
Dr. Severson earned a bachelorâ€™s degree Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a masterâ€™s in Nursing from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon and doctorate in Educational Leadership from Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin.

Assistant Medical Center Director
Dr. Christina Orr, D.P.T., has spent much of her career serving Americaâ€™s Veterans. She began her VA career as a physical therapist at the Hunter Holmes VA Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia before taking a position at the Milwaukee VA Medical Center in 2006. During her time at the Milwaukee VA she has worked several roles; acute care physical therapist, medical center ergonomist and, most recently, as a Health System Specialist/Executive Assistant to the Milwaukee VA Medical Centerâ€™s Deputy and Assistant Directors.
Dr. Orr is an active member in several professional organizations including the American College of Health Care Executives, the American Physical Therapy Association and its state affiliate chapter the Wisconsin Association of Physical Therapy, which she served as Treasurer for the its Continuing Education Special Interest Group for several years.
In her spare time, she mentored students in the Future Healthcare Leaders of America program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and assisted in teaching Anatomy and Physiology lab courses at Marquette University.
As a clinician, she gained valuable experience as the Clinical Coordinator of Clinical Education for the medical center helping to build robustly educational program for physical therapy students. She also developed ongoing educational opportunities for departmental and VA staff.
Dr. Orr earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Hampton University. She and her husband of 10 years are the proud parents of two energetic little boys. When away work, she can often be found spending time with her family, volunteering in the community or participating in organized running events across the country.
