Grief and Bereavement Support

Coping with the loss of a Veteran can be difficult for some before and after the Veteran’s passing.  Counseling is available to the Veteran’s family during the hospital stay and for 13 months after the Veteran’s death. The counseling is for those who would benefit from help in adjusting to the multitude of changes following the death of their Veteran. In addition to individualized bereavement services, one-page bereavement readings are sent to the family over the course of one year.

After the death of a loved one, it may be difficult to remember which tasks may need attention. For a helpful checklist of tasks that may need to be completed, click here.
